Men's Soccer Named Sixth in RSC Coaches Preseason Poll
RICHMOND, Ind. – The IU East men's soccer team was voted sixth in the 2023 RSC Coaches Preseason Poll that was released by the conference on Friday.
The Red Wolves earned 53 votes, seven ahead of Brescia. Rio Grande garnered nine of the 11 first-place votes.
IU East finished 10-7-3 overall and 4-3-2 in the conference last season. The Red Wolves made it to the RSC semifinals last year but dropped 3-0 to Rio Grande. They defeated Brescia 2-1 in the RSC Quarterfinals.
Peter Lamprou returns behind the posts. He was named to the RSC First Team. Callum Coleman returns after receiving RSC second-team honors and Josh Hlei is back after he was an honorable mention.
The Red Wolves will open their season Aug. 23 against Lawrence Tech at Centerville High School. Kickoff will start at 5 p.m.
