Indoor Track & Field: Friday Recap
The Indiana University East track and field teams competed in Bloomington and Ft. Wayne on Friday, Dec. 8
IU East's top performances in the Warrior Open at Indiana Tech in Ft. Wayne started with Cameron Nocton in the 3,000-meter race walk with a time of 13:52.13 to finish second. His time met the NAIA "A" standard, which qualified him for the national meet in South Dakota on Feb. 29-March 2.
Teagen Rodriguez was third in the mile run as he posted a 4:31.55 with Denis Kale finishing fourth in the 800 meters in 2:03.85.
At IU's Early Bird Meet in Bloomington, Loryn Metzcar led the way for the Red Wolves as she was ninth in the women's weight throw with a distance of 12.54 meters.
Metzcar and Kyler Shultz were both 10th in the shot put. Metzcar's effort went 11.23 meters, while Shultz had a toss of 13.91 meters in the men's event.
