Indoor Track: IU East at Rob & Patty Lydic Invitational Recap

ADA, Ohio - The Indiana University East track and field teams had three winners in the Rob & Patty Lydic Invitational at Ohio Northern University on Friday, Jan. 16.

Emilee Earl picked up the initial victory for IU East as she had a distance of 12.51 meters in the women's shot put, which set a new school record for the Red Wolves. Earl also had another school standard in the weight throw with a toss of 14.05 meters to finish fourth. She ended her day taking third in the pole vault by clearing 3.21 meters.

On the men's side, Brody Puckett won the 800 meters with a time of 2:03.88. Hunter Allen grabbed the other win in the mile with a school record time of 4:25.24.

There were three other IU East records established inside the ONU Sports Center. Kayci Hill posted a time of 5:16.52 to finish second in the women's mile, while setting a new mark. Emily Fleming finished third just behind Hill as she also surpassed the old record with a 5:20.44.

Carson Shepherd, who was fourth in the men's pole vault came away with a new standard at 4.17 meters. The final record of the event was set by Connor Nease as he was seventh in the men's 500 with a 1:16.44.
