Men's Volleyball: Campbellsville 3, IU East 0
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Facing their toughest road test of the season, the IU East men’s volleyball team was unable to give No. 5 Campbellsville their first loss of the season as they fell to the Tigers in straight sets, 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-18).
Wyatt King led the Red Wolves with 12 kills. Arthur Barreto and Vinicius Lopes were next with seven kills apiece. Brayden Richardson led the team with 24 assists.
In the first two sets, the Red Wolves were only able to hold small leads early on. Campbellsville showed its prowess and was able to gain the lead and keep it.
But in the third set, the Red Wolves held around longer and even stormed out to a 5-1 lead, thanks to a kill from Lopes, an ace from Francis Rivera Agosto, and three attack errors from Campbellsville. The Tigers were able to tie the game at 9-9, however with an 8-3 run of their own. The two teams tied the score again five more times until the Tigers took a 15-14 lead and never looked back.
The Red Wolves will be back home for the next seven games. They host Midway on Tuesday on Lingle Court at 6 p.m.
