Cross Country: IU East Men Receive Bid to NAIA National Championships
RICHMOND, Ind. - For the second year in a row, the Indiana University East men's cross country team had its ticket punched for the NAIA National Championships.
After finishing second in the River States Conference Championship behind No. 21 University of Rio Grande last weekend, the 11th ranked Red Wolves received an at-large bid to the 36-team event at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida on Friday, Nov. 21. The complete field was announced by the NAIA on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
IU East qualified for nationals as the RSC champions in 2022, so with last year's at-large bid the Red Wolves will be participating as a team for the third time in school history.
As a result of Shawnee State University getting an at-large bid on the women's side, IU East added a third individual to that race.
Emily Fleming was sixth in the RSC Championships followed by Kayci Hill who was seventh as both qualified last Saturday. Chloe Scales finished eighth and she will now join her teammates as the Red Wolves have three of the four individual spots available to the conference.
