Men's Cross Country: IU East Finishes 12th at NAIA National Championships

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Mylan Nocton had a repeat performance for the Indiana University East men's cross country team as he became an All-American for the second time at the NAIA National Championships on Friday, Nov. 21.

As a team, the 11th ranked Red Wolves finished 12th out of 35 teams in the 8K race at the Apalachee Regional Park, which is the best in school history. IU East improved from 16th last fall in Missouri. In Tallahassee in 2022, the Red Wolves were 30th when they qualified for nationals for the first time as a team.

Competing at nationals for the fourth time, Nocton finished 20th in a field of 326 runners with a time of 24:57.5. He was 35th last season to earn IU East's initial All-American honor in cross country.

IU East's other runners scoring for the Red Wolves were Cameron Nocton (81st, 25:44.5), Max Kline (87th, 25:49.3), Akot Tong (95th, 25:53.3) and Richard Bower (153rd, 26:19.4). Rounding out the top seven were Axton Fosnaugh (158th, 26:21.4) and Thomas Hogan (261st, 27:33.9).

Indiana Wesleyan University won the team championship, while Jack Anderson from The Master's won the race in 24:15.4.
