Women's Basketball: Oakland City 88, IU East 68

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The Indiana University East women's basketball team had its season come to an end with an 88-68 loss in the quarterfinals of the River States Conference Championships at Oakland City University on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

The No. 10 seed, IU East finishes at 11-19. No. 2 Oakland City University is 22-6 as the Mighty Oaks will host a semifinal affair on Saturday, March 2.

Davina Smith led the Red Wolves with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the Johnson Center.

Caitlin McEldowney tossed in 11 points, while Peyton Wells added nine.

Kennedy Griffin and Trinity Archey both finished with seven points.

The contest was the last in the careers of McEldowney, Griffin, Tia Tolbert, Kenzie Hudgen and Christina Himelick.
