OWENSBORO, Ky. – Davina Smith grabbed 13 rebounds and had 11 points and Kennedy Griffin scored a team-high 23 points in the 80-64 win over Brescia on Saturday.
The win improves the Red Wolves record to 10-16 overall and 5-11 in RSC play. The Bearcats fall to 5-20 on the season and are still winless in conference action.
Taylor Farris chipped in 18 points and Trinity Archey had 10.
In the first, no team was able to build a comfortable lead as no team held more than a 4-point advantage. Trailing 16-15 with 1:54 to go in the first, the Red Wolves grabbed the lead before the opening quarter after Kennedy hit a 3-pointer with 44 seconds to go.
The Red Wolves would lead the rest of the way, including a 19-point lead in the third quarter.
Brescia did outscore the Red Wolves in the fourth quarter but the lead was too insurmountable to overcome.
IU East will host IU Southeast on Tuesday in the last home game of the season. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Lingle Court.
