Women's Basketball Receives RSC Honors

RICHMOND, Ind. – The River States Conference announced multiple awards for the IU East women's basketball team on Monday.

 

Headlining the awards was Taylor Farris earning First-Team all-conference as a freshman. Taylor led the Red Wolves with 17.4 points per game. She also added 4.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.

 

Davina Smith and Kennedy Griffin also earned conference honors, being named to the RSC Third-Team.

 

Smith led the Red Wolves on the boards averaging 6.7 rebounds per game. She also added 12.5 points a game. Griffin averaged 10.9 points a game, surpassing 1,000 points in her career.

 

Caitlin McEldowney was the team's RSC Champions of Character.

 

Griffin, Mackenzie Hudgen, Sally Mortensen, and Tia Tolbert earned RSC Scholar-Athlete.

 

The Red Wolves defeated IU Southeast in the RSC First Round before falling to Oakland City in the RSC quarterfinals finishing the season with an 11-19 overall record.
