Bio

The only head coach in the history of the Indiana University East women's basketball program since it began in summer 2013, Tiffani Selhorst has a total of 21 years coaching experience at the NCAA Division I, high school, AAU and junior high levels.

IU East finished the 2021-22 at 25-8 as the Red Wolves qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the fourth time in school history and the first time since 2017-18.

"Making nationals in 2022 was one of my proudest moments as a coach," Selhorst said. "It is very rare to have a team that is so motivated to achieve their goals. In all of my years of coaching, I have learned that each team is special in their own ways and this team was set on overcoming the adversity of being shut down for the 2020-21 season."

Selhorst also serves as IU East's Senior Women's Administrator (SWA).

"It has always felt like home," Selhorst said of her tenure with the Red Wolves. "I have the opportunity to recruit quality student-athletes who want to come to IU East and be a part of something special."

The Red Wolves made their third consecutive appearance at the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship in 2017-18. IU East won 20 games for the third year in a row. Tia King appeared in "Sports Illustrated" in December after becoming the first IU East basketball player with 2,000 career points and again earned second-team All-America honors. Four IU East players earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition (GPA of 3.5 or better after five semesters). Six Red Wolves made the academic all-conference team. All five seniors who started with the program four years earlier earned their degrees in May of that year.

In 2017, Selhorst was named the RSC Coach of Character and the Wayne County Outstanding Young Professional after IU East posted a 29-6 record during as the Red Wolves won RSC East Division title in 2016-17 along with the post-season tournament for the first time and advancing to the "Sweet 16" at the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. The Red Wolves finished 15th in the nation in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball postseason poll. IU East ran the table in its first season on Lingle Court in the school's new Student Events and Activities Center, winning all 17 of its home games. Selhorst's team produced four all-conference honorees - King, Kristen Miller, Bailey Dreiman and Mackenzie Campbell. King also earned second-team All-America honors. Five IU East players earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition (GPA of 3.5 or better after five semesters). Six Red Wolves made the academic all-conference team.

IU East finished 22-11 during the program's second NAIA season in 2015-16 as Selhorst was named the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Red Wolves reeled off a program-record 12 consecutive victories late in the season. The record run resulted in a conference division championship, a return trip to the conference tournament championship game and the program's first appearance in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. IU East finished 29th in the nation in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball postseason poll. Selhorst coached the program's first All-America player and first all-conference honorees, which were King and Keragan Niehoff. Off the court, IU East posted the highest team GPA of any team in any sport in the conference.

Under Selhorst’s direction, the IU East women's basketball program has earned NAIA Scholar-Team recognition (3.00 team GPA) after every season in school history.

Prior to arriving at IU East, Selhorst was part of teams with an overall record of 109-84 as an NCAA Division I assistant.

She was a graduate assistant at Ohio University of the Mid-American Conference for two seasons before becoming the assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator for the NCAA Division I program at Saint Francis University (Pa.). Saint Francis made two trips to the NCAA Tournament during Selhorst's four seasons with the Red Flash.

Selhorst is a native of Ottawa, Ohio. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Wright State University in 2004. She holds a master's degree in recreation and sport sciences from Ohio University.
