Women's Golf: ONU Invitational Day 2 Recap

SAINT ANNE, Ill. – Brooklynn Cromwell finshed third to lead the Red Wolves in the Olivet Nazarene University Bill Johnson Fall Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Cromwell was named to the all-tournament team as she carded a 85-82-167 in the two-day event at the Kankakee Elks Country Club.

"Overall, I am satisfied with the way I played," Cromwell said. "I took a few doubles on both days that had me leaving some strokes out there."

The other scores for IU East were Jalyn Bruns (89-87-176), Annie Gillock (90-90-180), Liv Sanders (86-94-180), Katie Craig (92, 93, 185), Josalyn Lewis (96-97-193) and Megan Schrier (103-98-201).

"Beautiful weather, but this was the toughest set up we have faced since I have been the coach," IU East coach Billy Mullin said. "We've got a lot to work on still. I'm really happy for Brooklynn making the all-tournament team. She deserved it because 82 was a really good score on this course."

As a team, IU East finshed third with a 350-351-701. Complete results were unavailable on Saturday.

Next up for the Red Wolves is the IU East Fall Invitational on Friday, Sept. 23. The one-day affair is at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.

"This course played long and the greens were very tricky from what we are used to playing on," Cromwell said. "We didn't play well as a team, but we still competed both days. After the upcoming practices this week, I'm confident and expect everyone to be ready to play like we can for Delaware."
