Women's Golf: Midway University Eagle Invitational Day 1 Recap

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Annie Gillock led the Indiana University East women's golf team at the Midway University Eagle Invitational on April 3.

"Disappointing performance today," IU East coach Billy Mullin said. "It was a beautiful day on a great venue."

Gillock carded an 86 to finish the opening round in a tie for 23rd on the Big Blue Course at the University Club of Kentucky. 

"The last 12 holes really makes you think and our course management needs a lot of work going forward," Mullin said.

The other scores for the Red Wolves were Katie Craig 89 (T30th), Brooklynn Cromwell 91 (T33rd), Josalyn Lewis 93 (37th) and Jalyn Bruns 96 (T41st).

Mackendzie Dresbaugh of Marian University led the field with a 74, while her team is in first place. IU East is in eighth.

Tuesday's final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
