Women's Golf: NAIA National Championship Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - Jalyn Bruns will be representing Indiana University East as she competes in the 30th Annual NAIA Women's Golf National Championship beginning on Tuesday, May 13.

The four-day affair is at the Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan. There is a cut following the second round, which is slated for Wednesday, May 14. The final two days are May 15-16.  

Bruns will be playing the first two days with Cristen Legaspi of Hope International University in California and Allison Meyerink from Dakota Wesleyan that is located in South Dakota.

The opening round tee time for the group on hole No. 10 is 2:30 p.m., while they will start on the second day on No. 1 at 9:30 a.m.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* Bruns carded a total of 90-88-178 in the national tournament last year at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. The Red Wolves had qualified for the third straight season as a team after winning the River States Conference title.

* This season, Bruns was the medalist at the RSC Championship in West Virginia earning her ticket to nationals with a score of 80-78-78-236 .

* The fourth conference medalist for the Red Wolves, Bruns joined Breanna Nowak (2016, 2018, 2019), Jo Wisecup (2021) and Brooklynn Cromwell (2024) on that exclusive list.

* Nowak has the top individual performance in the national tournament as she finished 10th in 2018 at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
