Women’s Golf: NAIA National Championship Day 1 Recap

YPSILANTI, Mich. - A rain delay and darkness were part of the opening round of the 30th Annual NAIA Women's Golf National Championship beginning on Tuesday, May 13.

Indiana University East's Jalyn Bruns was among several golfers who were unable to complete the first round at the Eagle Crest Golf Club.

Bruns is tied for 98th out of 156 golfers as she was 11-over par through the 14 holes that she finished.

On Wednesday, Bruns will play No. 6 through No. 9 to end the first round starting at 7 a.m.

For the second round, Bruns is scheduled start on No. 1 at approximately 10:45 a.m.

Sharon Shan of the Savannah (GA.) College of Art and Design led the field individually with a 65 in the first round.

Top-ranked University of British Columbia leads the 30-team event with a score of 297 just ahead of Marian University's 301.
