Women's Soccer: Rio Grande at IU East RSC Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East women's soccer team opens the River States Conference Championships with a home match as the Red Wolves host the University of Rio Grande on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

The quarterfinal affair at Eaton High School starts at 6 p.m.

IU East is the No. 4 seed with Rio Grande in the No. 5 spot.

No. 6 Brescia (11-6, 6-4) at No. 3 WVU Tech (10-4-3, 7-2-1), 5 p.m.
No. 5 Rio Grande (8-5-5, 6-3-1) at No. 4 IU East (10-5-3, 7-2-1), 6 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 8 -- Semifinals

Brescia/WVU Tech winner at No. 2 IU Kokomo (10-4-4, 7-1-2)
Rio Grande/IU East winner at No. 1 Oakland City (13-2-2, 9-0-1)

Wednesday, Nov. 12 -- Finals

* The Red Wolves have won postseason titles in 2019 and during the 2020-21 season. IU East has been the runner-up twice in 2018 and 2024.

* IU East won 3-1 at Rio Grande on Oct. 25. Kelsey Leming, Katherine Lopez Cruz and Mia Runyan scored for the Red Wolves in the victory.

* Asia Espiritu scored for IU East in a 1-0 win at Midway University last weekend.

* Rio Grande is coming off a 1-0 loss at RSC regular season champion Oakland City on Nov. 1.
