Indoor Track: Indiana Tech Invitational Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East indoor track and field teams begin 2025 as the Red Wolves participate in the Indiana Tech Invitational on Friday, Jan. 17.

The field events inside the Doug Edgar Indoor Track Facility get underway at 3 p.m. The competition on the track starts at 4 p.m.

This is the first of three meets this month as the Red Wolves prepare for the River States Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 14-15 in Marietta, Ohio.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* IU East's Tristan Thomas had a time of 6.98 seconds in the 60-meter dash to tie a school record in the Warrior Indoor Invitational at Indiana Tech on Friday, Dec. 6.

* Sam Houck had the top performance for the Red Wolves men's squad at Indiana Tech as he was third in the weight throw with a distance of 15.08 meters.

* On the women's side individually for IU East, Loryn Metzcar was fifth in the women's weight throw at 12.87 meters.

* The IU East women's 1,600-meter relay (Julia Smith, Sarah Marshall, Jillian Jackson and India Benton) was second with a 4:32.17.

* The RSC Indoor Championships will be in the Dyson Baudo Rec Center on the campus of Marietta College.
