Indoor Track: IU East at George Glass Invitational Recap

UPLAND, Ind. - The Indiana University East indoor track and field teams picked up four victories and set a few records in the George Glass Invitational at Taylor University on Saturday, Jan. 24.

For the IU East women, Kayci Hill set a school record as she finished first in the 1,000 meters with a 3:04.00. Mackenzie Rohde grabbed the 400 Meters with a time of 1:02.51.

IU East's 3,200-meter relay squad of Emily Fleming, Hill, Mylee Shatto and Hunter Gardner posted a time of 10:31.18 to take that race.

On the men's side, Thomas Hogan ran an 8:53.55 as he won the 3,000 Meters.

In addition to Hill's new mark, four others established new standards for the Red Wolves. Emilee Earl surpassed her school record in the women's pole vault by clearing 3.30 meters as she was third. Akot Tong was third in the men's 1,000 Meters (2:37.22) and Tristan Thomas finished fifth in the men's 60-meter dash (6.98).

Althea Clifford was fifth in the women's 3,000 Meters with a freshman record time of 11:09.51.

There were also two relay teams that finished in second place. The men's 3,200 relay of DeAndre Hall, Conner Walser, Beck Wilson, Jonah Bailey had a time of 8:11.83. The other women's 3,200 relay team of Casey Gifford, Aliecia Brooks, Emily Durham and Lily Hart combined for a 10:59.19.
