Outdoor Track: IU East at Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational Preview
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East track and field teams are set to open the outdoor season in South Carolina as the Red Wolves take part in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational for the fifth time at Myrtle Beach on March 19-21.
The three-day affair is in Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
IU East begins its competition on Thursday with the men's hammer and women's javelin that gets underway at 1 p.m.
The Red Wolves start on Friday with the women's long jump at 11 a.m. Preliminaries for the sprints are at 1:30 p.m.
On Saturday, IU East athletes open the final day in the men's discus at 9 a.m. The women's 3,000 meters will be the first race on the track at 10 a.m.
FOLLOW THE MEET
Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium is the site for all the events. It is located at 705 33rd Ave North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
The meet is open to NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, club and unattached athletes.
Admission for adults is $12 per day. Three-day passes are $30, while a two-day ticket is $20. Students with school ID are $5 and children under six are free. Tickets are available here.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW
* As a team the IU East women's squad is coming of the title at the 2026 River States Conference Indoor Championships, while the men were second in the event earlier this month
* IU East has participated in this meet in 2018, 2019, 2024 and 2025.
* The River States Conference Outdoor Championships will be at the University of Rio Grande on May 1-2.
* The NAIA National Outdoor Championships are scheduled for May 20-22 in Asheville, N.C.
