Outdoor Track: IU East Little State Day 2 Recap

MARION, Ind. - The Indiana University East track and field teams wrapped the 121st Little State Championships at Indiana Wesleyan University with some school records on Saturday, April 18.

The first new marks came in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on the Wildcat Track. Thomas Hogan surpassed his record time setting a new standard as he finished fourth in 9:30.59. Kayci Hill broke her own freshman record with a time of 11:37.57 to finish third.

Emilee Earl established two new records. She was fourth in the women's shot put with a distance of 12.44 meters. In the pole vault, Earl cleared 3.38 meters to finish in 13th.

Vanessa Temple was the top finisher for IU East running the women's 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.45 to take second place.

Also scoring for the Red Wolves were:

Antaviyon Reed, Jaiden Crowell, Miguel Mendez Jr. and Thomas (men's 400-meter relay, sixth, 41.86)
Mylee Shatto (women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, seventh, 12:21.32)
Conner Walser (men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, seventh, 9:45.94)
Mackenzie Rohde (women's 400, seventh, 1:00.11)
Lily Hart (women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, eighth, 12:38.85)
Hunter Allen (men's 1,500, eighth, 4:04.52)

Indiana Wesleyan won the women's team title as the Red Wolves were sixth out of 17 squads. On the men's side, Marian University was first of 21 schools as IU East finished 11th. 

The Red Wolves return to action at Wilmington College on Saturday, April 25.
