Volleyball: IU East at SMWC Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East volleyball team takes its last road trip of the regular season as the Red Wolves visit St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

The River States Conference contest in Hamilton Arena gets underway at 7 p.m.

IU East is 24-6 overall as the Red Wolves lead the RSC East Division at 16-1. IU East beat Point Park University 25-15, 25-15, 26-24 on Lingle Court as the Red Wolves won their 15th straight on Saturday, Oct. 28.

St. Mary-of-the-Woods is in second place in the RSC West at 27-5, 13-4 behind IU Kokomo (27-3, 17-0). The Pomeroys are coming off a 25-19, 23-25, 25-14, 26-24 loss to Oakland City University last weekend.

* Jessica Swimm topped the Red Wolves with 14 kills against Point Park, while Brooke Lepper added nine kills and 12 digs.

* Reece Shirley had 35 assists for IU East as Ella Bickel lead the way with 15 digs.

* SMWC is 14-2 at home this fall as the Pomeroys head into their Senior Day against the Red Wolves.

* Hanna Zuege had 13 kills in the loss to Oakland City. Zuege now has 1,145 kills in her career, which is second most in school history. The all-time leader for the Pomeroys is McKenzi Kumpf (2015-18) with 1,331.
