KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University East volleyball team will get a chance to play for the River States Conference title.
The No. 2 seed in the tournament, IU East defeated No. 3 Oakland City University 25-15, 25-20, 25-23 in the semifinals at IU Kokomo.
"We punched our ticket for nationals and we're all excited about that accomplishment," IU East coach Kim McConaha said of the Red Wolves earning one of the two RSC automatic bids to the NAIA National Tournament.
"We still aren't satisfied with just checking that box," McConaha added. "We are wanting to bring home a tournament championship. There will be a battle tomorrow and we are ready."
IU East (27-7) will battle top seed IU Kokomo (31-3) on Saturday for the championship at 2 p.m.
The Cougars beat No. 5 University of Rio Grande 25-15, 25-13, 25-19 in the first semifinal contest of the night.
