Swimm Named RSC Player of the Year, Shirley Named RSC Setter of the Year

 RICHMOND, Ind. – Jessica Swimm was named RSC Player of the Year and Reece Shirley earned RSC Setter of the Year to highlight the RSC awards announced by the conference over the weekend.

 

Joining Swimm and Shirley on the RSC First-Team was Teah Barrett Matthews. Ella Bickel and Brooke Lepper were named to the Second Team.

 

Swimm led the conference in kills with 490 kills overall and ranks seventh in the nation in total kills, fifth in kills per set with 4.49.

 

Shirley finished the regular season with 1,250 assists, good for tenth in the nation. Her assists per set was 11.16, ranking sixth in the nation. She was the leader in assists in the conference by 290.

 

Barrett Matthews finished with a .328 hitting percentage, which was good for 24th in the nation. She was behind IU Kokomo's Lexi Broyles for the lead in conference.

 

Bickel finished the season with 617 digs, which tied her for twelfth in the nation. She finished second in conference, 18 behind Oakland City's Dunja Madjarevic.

 

Lepper tallied 323 kills, tenth best in the conference.

 

The Red Wolves finished with an overall record of 27-8. They earned an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships and will take on Bellevue on Saturday, Nov. 18 in Bellevue, Neb. First serve is schedule for 1 pm EST.
