Women's Volleyball: IU East 3, Oakland City 1

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The Indiana University East women's volleyball team started its weekend road trip with a 25-12, 25-20, 22-25, 25-21 victory over Oakland City University on Friday, Oct. 17.

With the River States Conference win in the Johnson Center, the Red Wolves are 12-16 overall and 5-5 in the league. Oakland City falls to 11-12 and 2-8.

After dropping the third set, IU East eventually trailed 19-16 in the fourth before the Red Wolves rallied to post the victory.

Payton Schultheis led IU East with 12 kills and three aces to go with 13 digs. Alayna Barrett finished with nine kills as Amyra Lockett added nine.

Aislyn Hogan paced the offense with 31 assists. Abby Herman had three aces.

Defensively, Ella Bickel led the way with 18 digs with Herman and Carli Cox contributing 14 each. Brooklyn Taylor recorded four blocks and Lockett had three.

IU East is at Brescia University on Saturday. The match in the Moore Center begins at 2 p.m. (IU East time).
