Women's Cross Country: Wildcat Twilight Invitational Recap

MARION, Ind. - The Indiana University East women's cross country team opened the 2025 season at the Wildcat Twilight Invitational on Friday, Sept. 5.

The Red Wolves finished eighth out of 21 teams on the Indiana Wesleyan University course. Top-ranked Taylor University won the team championship.

"It was definitely an opener for us," IU East coach Cam Tiberg said. "We're still learning the distance. I could definitely tell we were a young team. Really a good start for our young ladies."

Chloe Scales (23:43.70, 27th), Emily Fleming (23:50.00, 28th) and Kayci Hill (23:57.30, 35th) led the Red Wolves in the 6K race.

Rounding out the top seven for IU East were Samantha Fowler (24:43.40, 67th), Stella Cornelius (25:09.40, 85th), Emily Durham (25:30.90, 101st) and Sophie Harris (25:45.20, 113th).

Others competing for the Red Wolves were Mylee Shatto (25:47.40, 115th), Savanna Smith (26:01.50, 117th), Makenzee Kahn (26:09.20, 122nd), Kendra Shipman (26:16.40, 129th), Ella Claypoole (26.19.40, 133rd), Hunter Gardner (26:35.40, 141st), Aliecia Brooks (26:45.40, 149th), Casey Gifford (26:47.50, 151st) and Alexis Dean (29:24.80, 185th).

IU East is back in action at the Olivet Nazarene University Midwest Classic on Friday, Sept. 19.
