Cross Country: ONU Midwest Classic Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East cross country teams return to the course for the Olivet Nazarene University Midwest Classic on Friday, Sept. 19.

The 6K women's race on the Aspen Ridge Golf Course begins at 5:30 p.m. (Central time) with the men's 8K starting at 6:10 p.m.

In addition to the Red Wolves and the host school, the teams competing will be from Hanover, Governors State, St. Ambrose, Trinity Christian, St. Xavier, Cornerstone, Indiana Tech along with Joliet, Macomb, Harper and Oakton community colleges.

The Aspen Ridge Golf Course is located at 1763 E 4000N Rd. Bourbonnais, IL 60914, which is behind the Northfield Square Mall.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* IU East is the highest ranked NAIA team on the men's side at No. 13. Olivet Nazarene, Indiana Tech and Cornerstone received votes in the latest poll.

* The Red Wolves were fourth at Indiana Wesleyan University's Wildcat Twilight Invitational on Friday, Sept. 5.

* Mylan Nocton led IU East with a time of 25:01.10 to finish 10th at IWU.

* Cornerstone leads the women's field as the Golden Eagles are ranked 15th in the NAIA. Olivet Nazarene is No. 21, while Indiana Tech picked up votes in the rankings from Aug. 21.

* Chloe Scales led IU East's women at IWU with a time of 23:43.70 to finish 27th for the Red Wolves, who were eighth out of 21 teams.
