Women's Cross County: IU East Finishes in Third Place
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The Indiana University East women's cross country team finished third in the Olivet Nazarene University Midwest Classic on Friday, Sept. 19.
IU East had 68 points as the Red Wolves finished behind No. 21 Olivet Nazarene (31 points) and Governors State (67 points). The other team scores were Hanover 82, Trinity Christian 142, Macomb CC 174 and Joliet Junior College 190.
Individually, Kayci Hill was fourth as she posted a time of 23:45.30 to lead IU East in the 6K event on the Aspen Ridge Golf Course. Chloe Scales was also in the top five as she finished fifth in 23:48.30.
The others in the top seven for the Red Wolves were Emily Fleming (24:08.20, 12th), Stella Cornelius (25:33.10, 26th), Ella Claypoole (25:46.20, 30th), Mylee Shatto (26:20.80, 37th) and Hunter Gardner (26:31.00, 40th).
Also competing for the Red Wolves were Kendra Shipman (26:37.60, 41st), Makenzee Kahn (26:41.70, 43rd), Casey Gifford (27:04.20, 49th), Sophie Harris (27:06.30, 51st), Emily Durham (27:16.30, 53rd), Aliecia Brooks (27:41.90, 59th), Sarah Perry (29:50.60 77th) and Alexis Dean (29:57.20, 79th).
The Red Wolves return to action at the SWAGS Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 4.
