Cross Country: Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic Preview
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East cross country teams head to Kentucky for the 24th Annual Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The Red Wolves are among 110 programs from the NAIA and all NCAA levels competing in the affair at the E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
Joining IU East from the River States Conference will be Brescia University, IU Kokomo, Midway University, Oakland City University, Shawnee State University and WVU Tech.
IU East will have runners in four different races.
The Red Wolves are seeded first out of 34 teams in the Men's Gold 8K race that starts at 9 a.m. In the Women's Blue 6K event, IU East is 31st out of 49 as that race begins at 11 a.m. Next up is the Men's Silver 8K with the Red Wolves ninth of 34 teams in a race getting underway at 11:30 a.m. The final race for IU East is the Women's Silver 5K with the Red Wolves seeded 15th out of 51.

* IU East's men's squad is No. 13 in the latest NAIA National Rankings.
* The Red Wolves men's team won the Olivet Nazarene University Midwest Classic on Friday, Sept. 19. Mylan Nocton finished first for the Red Wolves with a time of 26:09.70 in the 8K race.
* Kayci Hill led IU East at the Olivet Nazarene University Midwest Classic as she was fourth posting a time of 23:45.30 in the 6K event. Chloe Scales finished fifth in 23:48.30.
* This is the fifth time that IU East will participate in this event.
* Last year, the IU East men were eighth out of 30 squads in the Blue 8K race. Mylan Nocton led the Red Wolves with a school record time of 25:06.0 as he finished ninth out of 332 runners.
* On the women's side last fall, IU East was third out of 24 teams in the Silver 5K.
