Taylor Sweeps Red Wolves in Season Openers
UPLAND, Ind. – The men's and women's tennis team hit the road to play in their first official match of the season Monday.
Taylor University, however, was able to sweep the double-header against the Red Wolves. The men's team dropped a close 4-3 affair, while the women's side fell 6-1.
In the men's match, the Red Wolves were able to grab the double point. Andrea Klaric and Juan Diego Balao won their No. 1 Doubles match 6-2. Alex Piercy and Connor Burk won at No. 3 Doubles 6-3.
Sachin Vanaraja won at No. 3 Singles 6-4, 6-0 and Piercy won at No. 4 Singles 6-1, 6-2.
For the women, Lauren Miller grabbed the only point for the Red Wolves. She won at No. 4 Singles 6-2, 7-5.
The road warriors will travel again on Wednesday as they head to Trine. First serve for both the men and women is schedule for 3 p.m.
